ICANN Update: More Than 2000 TLD Applications, $350 Million in Fees – ICANN has announced that the TLD Application System held 2091 top-level domain applications, either submitted or in progress, when the system was taken offline on April 12. As of May 4, ICANN has received approximately USD $350 million in new gTLD application fees. There are also 214 potential applications whose payments have not yet been received or reconciled. ICANN had previously announced that when the system is reopened it will be kept open for at least five business days.
