Webnames.ca is a proud supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society and we have set up the Webnames.ca Cancer Prevention Fund to support cancer research and prevention.
With that in mind, we’re hosting a soccer tournament on June 28th, 2015 at the Strathcona Park on 857 Malkin Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6A 2K5. Two teams from Webnames.ca and two teams from our neighbour, Uniserve, will be competing against each other in a round robin tournament. All proceeds generated from the competition will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society to build the Cancer Prevention Centre, and we’d love to meet you there!
What is Webnames.ca Cancer Prevention Fund?
The Canadian Cancer Society estimates that in 2015, there will be 196,900 new cases of cancer and cause 78,000 deaths. It’s one of the leading causes of death in Canada and has affected millions of Canadians.
That’s why as an organization and as a team, Webnames.ca has committed to support the Canadian Cancer Society and by setting up the Webnames.ca Cancer Prevention Fund to help support the construction of a research and prevention centre right here in Vancouver. In the next 5 years, Webnames.ca will be hosting different events to support research and funding into early cancer detection and prevention so that we can prevent Canadians from having to go through later stages of cancer which are harder to treat.
