Nomination Committee Candidates for CIRA Board Selected – The CIRA Nomination Committee has selected candidates for the NomCom side of the split ballot for the Board Elections this September. The candidates are: Richard Anderson, Clyde Beattie, Jean Héon, Ronald Kawchuk, Jefferson Mesidor, Christophe Reverd, and Rick Sutcliffe. Each candidate has submitted a statement, and answers to questions posed by the Nomination Committee.

Members’ Nominees for CIRA Board Solicited – A call for Member Nominees for the CIRA Board elections will open on Monday, July 9 and close on Friday, July 20. Those individuals who receive the support of at least 20 CIRA Members will be listed on the Members side of the split ballot.

.ORG Registry Names New CEO – The Public Interest Registry (PIR), registry for the .org domain, has announced the appointment of Alexa Raad as its new CEO. Formerly, Ms. Raad had been chief marketing officer at dotMobi and a senior business development manager at VeriSign.

.MOBI Registry To Seek Proposals For City Name Registrations – dotMobi (mTLD, Ltd.), registry operator for the .mobi domain, will be “seeking proposals from local governments and/or their designees interested in acquiring and developing a city name for an initial period of two years.” Presently it has 650 city names on its reserved list, and applications will be received starting on August 20.
