Kentucky to Appeal Gambling Ruling – After the Kentucky Court of Appeals struck down a Circuit Court order that allowed seizure of 141 gambling-related domain names, the state administration has indicated that it will take the matter to the Kentucky Supreme Court. The appeals court had ruled that the state courts cannot seize domain names as “gambling devices”.

.MOBI Registry to Make One and Two Character Domain Names Available – After receiving approval last November to register single-character and two-character names, e.g. x.mobi and 13.mobi, the .mobi registry dotMobi has announced that it is accepting expressions of interest from interested companies “who will use the domains to drive the adoption of the mobile Web.” The registry will then invite selected formal requests for proposals.
