Domain Name Industry Report Published By Nominet – Nominet has published its fourth annual Domain Name Industry Report. Among its findings: the global domain name market has grown by 6%, .uk registrations have grown by 11.5%, 80% of UK consumers prefer to use a .uk website over a .com website, .uk is now the second largest ccTLD after .de, and 65% of UK print and television advertising now includes domain names. Domain name statistics are presented for the top 20 ccTLDs compared by number of domains registered, growth rate, GDP ranking, and names registered per 1,000 population.
.EU Registry Reports On DNSSEC Deployment – EURid, the .eu registry operator, has issued an overview of DNSSEC deployment worldwide, noting that “only 37 of the world’s 283 active TLDs (13%) have enabled DNSSEC to varying extents”.
