What is the role of CIRA’s Board?
The Board of Directors has a unique role to play in setting policy and strategy to help CIRA continue to be a leading-edge organization that strives for excellence as a registry and supports Canadians in building their presence in the global digital economy.

Why should this interest me or someone I nominate?
Becoming a CIRA Board Director is a unique opportunity to work with Canada’s Internet leaders as they develop strategy and policy that position .CA for operational excellence. The skills, experience and expertise Board members bring to the table will help guide CIRA as it fulfills its mandate to manage the .CA domain as a key public resource for the benefit of all
Canadians. Members of CIRA’s Board of Directors are remunerated for their time and reimbursed for expenses. For detailed information, please visit: www.cira.ca.

The yearly commitment from Directors includes five in-person meetings in various cities across Canada and committee work and associated conference calls.

Who should apply?
Canadians with governance experience and relevant background in industry, technology or the Internet. Expertise in one of the following areas would be an asset: auditing and accounting, risk management, strategic planning and relevant technology.

How do I apply?
Interested individuals can nominate themselves or another individual by completing the online
Nomination Form between May 8 and June 6. Once nominated, Nominees will receive an email with a link to complete an online Nominee Application Form. The Nominee must complete and submit the form before 8 p.m. ET on June 6. CIRA’s Nomination Committee will then review applications and select the Final Nomination Committee Slate, which will then be voted on by .CA Members during the September election. There are three nomination committee seats available; each will hold a three-year term.
