Sunrise For Some New gTLDs May Start On October 29 – The Donuts domain name registry has reportedly announced that the Sunrise period for nine of the new gTLDs it has applied for may start on October 29. The domains are: .camera, .clothing, .equipment, .guru, .holdings, .lighting, .singles, .ventures and .voyage. The launch date is an estimate depending on the IANA root server delegation process. The Sunrise periods, intended for trademark and similar rights holders, are slated for 60 days. Landrush might begin as soon as late December or early in 2014, with General Availability to follow.
Domain Name Association Opens Membership – The Domain Name Association, a business association to promote the interest of the domain name industry, is seeking members. Membership prices range from US $1,000 to US $50,000 per year.
ICANN Announces Strategy Panel Members – ICANN has named the participants of four Strategy Panels to “support development of ICANN’s strategic and operational plans.”
