We’re 2 weeks into 2014 and 11 new domain extensions have already launched! Here are the latest domain name extensions that have launched!
January 7, 2014 – Batch 7
The .ACADEMY, .CENTER, .COMPUTER, .MANAGEMENT and .SYSTEMS launched last week to kick off 2014. This batch of new domains are 2014’s very first domains launched.
January 10, 2014 – .LUXURY
The .LUXURY domain extension also launched last week, January 10, 2014. The .LUXURY domain follows a more traditional launch model and features a Landrush Period.
January 14, 2014 – Batch 8
5 more new domains launch today including, .BUILDERS, .EMAIL, .SOLUTIONS, .SUPPORT and .TRAINING.
You can begin Pre-Ordering for any of these domains by visiting www.webnames.ca/domain and selecting the new gTLD that you want.
Domain Launch Phase Dates
Sunrise Period
All domains will start their launch with 60-day Sunrise Periods, restricted to trademark holders that have verified their trademarks via the Trademark Clearinghouse.
Sunrise began on January 10 for Batch 7; January 10 for .LUXURY and today, January 14, 2014 for Batch 8.
Landrush Period
Landrush is a period open to everyone and will feature premium pricing and the benefit of limited competition. .LUXURY begins its Landrush phase on March 17, 2014 but the new domains under batches 7 and 8 will not be entering this phase.
General Availability
General Availability or GA is open to everyone, and registration of domains is on a first come, first served basis.
GA begins on March 19, 2014 for Batch 7; March 26, 2014 for Batch 8 and; April 21, 2014 for .LUXURY.
