Can I Secure the Domain I want Earlier?
Yes! You can participate in the Early Access Program (EAP). The EAP will begin on January 29, 2014 and will last for seven days. Keep in mind that while you are able to secure the domain name you want before everyone else, you will be paying premium prices for EACH domain you register during this time.
If you are interested in participating in the EAP, you can do so here: www.webnames.ca/domain.
Which Domain Should You Pick?
The new domain extensions entering General Availability are only a preview of what’s to come. If you see a new domain extension that would work well for your business, we suggest pre-ordering for it now to reserve your spot on the submission queue. Once the new domains launch, registration will be on a first come, first served basis; when you pre-order for the domain you want, it increase your chances of securing it when it becomes available.
If you can’t find the domain name that you want, more domains will be launching soon. With the new domain extensions being launched, there will be an extension for every type of industry, activity and hobby. You can use our Domain Launch Schedule tool, available here, to see more new domains and their estimated launch dates.
