About CIRA
The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is a not-for-profit organization that manages Canada’s .CA domain registry, and helps support Canada’s Internet community. There are a number of registrars under CIRA, including Webnames.ca, that are fully certified to register .CA domain names. CIRA to date has more than 1.9 million .CA domain names registered. The .CA brand has come a long way and has become the preferred domain choice for Canadians to do business.
CIRA’s work is overseen by a Board of Directors who develop strategies and policies that contribute to the .CA domain and the Canadian Internet. CIRA members play a key role in CIRA’s governance by electing the Board of Directors and by participating in activities including public consultations, the Canadian Internet Forum, and CIRA’s Annual General Meeting.
