JuliannaThe Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) named its new President and Chief Operation Officer on Monday. The choice of Byron G. Holland marked the culmination of an extensive nation-wide search. Holland succeeds CIRA’s interim CEO Ron Harbottle who is retiring after eight years of service.
Holland’s experience is expansive – 17 years working in technology, retail and finance, most recently at Futura Rewards where he was instrumental in growing the company’s loyalty program into one of Canada’s largest. Holland will continue to serve as a Director on Futura Loyalty Groups Board of Directors.
Webnames.ca welcomes Holland and looks forward to CIRA’s upcoming initiatives aimed at growing dot-ca awareness and adoption. CIRA is the not-for-profit, member-driven organization responsible for the management of Canada‘s dot-ca domain namespace, the policies that support Canada‘s Internet community, and Canadian involvement in international Internet governance.
