ICANN Meets Next Week in Beijing – ICANN is meeting on April 7-11 in Beijing, China, with some pre-meeting events taking place as early as Thursday, April 4. One of the main topics will be the New gTLD program. Remote participation will be available for many of the sessions.
ICANN Releases Second Set of Evaluation Results for New gTLD Applications – ICANN has released Initial Evaluation results for the second set of New gTLD applications, with priority numbers 31-60. Of these, 25 applications received a passing score. All Initial Evaluation results are available online. At the current pace, the first non-IDN evaluation results should be known within two weeks.
CIRA 2013 Nomination Committee Announced – CIRA has announced its Nomination Committee members for 2013. The Nomination Committee “plays a critical role in soliciting and selecting qualified Candidates for the Nomination Committee Slate of CIRA’s Board of Directors Election.” New and re-appointed members are Marc Blanchet, Kirk LaPointe, Glenn McNight, Cynthia Robertson, Bill Graham (re-appointed) and Deborah Rosati (re-appointed). Continuing members are Colleen Arnold, Tim Denton, Rochelle Grayson, Michael Hrybyk and Stuart MacDonald, along with Adam Scott as the Government Representative.
