ICANN: Domain Tasting All But Eliminated – ICANN reports that “domain tasting” has all but been eliminated. Domain tasting is the practice of speculatively registering a domain name and then using the five-day Add Grace Period (AGP) to cancel the registration for a full refund if the domain doesn’t get enough traffic. Following policy changes to limit the number of free AGP returns, “there has been a 99.7% decline in domain tasting across all registries that have implemented the new domain tasting policy”.
