ICANN Board Recommends Action On Domain Tasting – ICANN is “looking to effectively end domain tasting”. At its January 23 meeting, the ICANN Board passed a resolution to begin the process of including ICANN transaction fees, presently $0.20 per domain, for all domain registrations including those deleted during the five-day Add Grace Period (AGP). More that 90% of domains registered are deleted during the AGP.
DoC To Hold Public Meeting On ICANN Agreement – On February 28, a public meeting will be held to discuss the mid-term review of the Joint Project Agreement between the U.S. Department of Commerce and ICANN. The three-year agreement was entered into in September, 2006. In its submission to the review, ICANN has begun making its case for autonomy. The meeting will be webcast.
