Two deadlines this week:
- Friday, January 22 is the last day for applications to be considered for CIRA’s Nomination Committee. The committee’s critical role is to identify and attract excellent candidates for CIRA’s annual Board of Directors election.
- On Thursday, January 21, the comment period closes on the first draft of ICANN’s Strategic Plan for 2010-2013.
Other items:
- Telnic, the registry for the .tel domain, has been given permission to deploy Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). Telnic has not yet announced plans or a timeline.
- SIDN, the registry for the Netherlands’ .nl registry, has implemented changes to its Whois service. To protect registrants’ privacy, less personal information is now available, although the registrant’s name and administrative and technical email addresses are still shown.
