.TRAVEL Founder Steps Down – Ron Andruff, founder of the .travel domain and President of Triallance Corporation, the operator of the .travel domain registry, has stepped down. According to an article in Breaking Travel News, Andruff indicated that “his decision was due to a combination of conflicting ideas with Tralliance management about the future of dot Travel as well as having reached all his targets for the top level internet domain.”

July 31 Deadline for Eligibility to Vote in 2007 CIRA Election – CIRA members must have completed the new Membership Enrolment process by Tuesday, July 31 in order to be eligible to vote in CIRA’s 2007 Board of Directors election this September. CIRA has provided a members’ area on its website; those unsure of their membership status may contact CIRA at the address given there or by telephone at 1-877-913-5335.

Survey Indicates Low Active Development of .EU Domains – A CircleID article by Michele Neylon, referring to work done by John McCormack, indicates that less than 22% of .eu domains appear to be actively developed. Subsequently, McCormack lowered this number to 16%, and by comparison reports that the Irish ccTLD .ie has approximately 57% of websites actively developed.
