ICANN Appoints Chief Security Officer – Jeff Moss has been appointed as ICANN’s Chief Security Officer. He is the founder of the DEF CON hacker conference and Black Hat, a global technical security conference.

.NL Domain Achieves 25 Year Milestone – SIDN, the registry for The Netherlands’ .nl domain, is celebrating the domain’s 25th anniversary. In 1986, Piet Beertema of Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) was given control of the domain on CWI’s behalf, and he registered all .nl domain names for the next 10 years. The domain has developed into the third largest ccTLD, with over 4.4 million active registrations.
