Nominet Trust Announces Grants – Nominet Trust has announced its first six grants for a range of Internet-related projects, using a 5 million pound donation received in September, 2008 from the .uk registry Nominet. The six organizations to receive funding are: The British Computer Association of the Blind, The Internet Society, Childnet, The Cambridge Global Grid for Learning, Cambridge Library Services, and Youthnet. Other organizations can apply for funding.
auDA Audits ORG.AU Registrations – auDA, the Australian domain name administrator, has audited the org.au domain names registered between January 1, 2007 and February 28, 2009. Of the 18,103 org.au names audited, auDA found that 4,113 (approximately 23%) do not comply with eligibility criteria. Registrars have been instructed to update or delete non-compliant registations by June 30.
