.SE Domain Brought Down Due To Misconfiguration – The registry for Sweden’s .se domain published an incorrect .se zone file on October 12, effectively removing all .se domain names from the zone file and making them inaccessible. Corrected data was quickly published, although the old incorrect information may have remained available for some time due to DNS caching.

.DE Domain to Ease Registration Rules – DENIC, the registry for Germany’s .de domain, has announced that as of October 23 it will remove many restrictions on .de registrations. Among other things, it will now be possible to register one-character, two-character, and numeric domains. The announcement follows a 2008 court decision to allow the registration of vw.de to Volkswagen.
