You say you haven’t heard about dot-TEL yet! I’m suprised. Webnames.ca has been inundated by media wanting to hear more about what dot-TEL is all about. John Demco, co-founder of Webnames.ca and founder of .CA for Canada has been across the country in recent weeks at the request of media to speak about dot-TEL. He’s been interviewed on radio as, TV and print media; syndication of the information is spreading.

John, better known in Canadian Internet circles as the “Godfather of .CA”, was mistakenly called the “Grandfather of .CA” by Michael Eckford at Urban Rush which was quite funny. Poor John! It’s easy to forget that John is not that old even though he was involved in establishing one of the first internet connections between Canada and the US as well has his accomplishment in founding .CA before there was a World Wide Web. In his modest way, I don’t think John would ever be totally comfortable with either of the titles.
