Fraud Alert – Domain Suspension Notice

Security Alert

Webnames.ca was recently alerted to a phishing scam concerning domain suspensions.  The phishing emails portray that they are being sent from us and state that your domain has been suspended.  However, once the recipient clicks on the link within the spoofed email, they are susceptible to malicious payload.

If an email looks suspicious or is similar to the example below, recipients should avoid clicking on any link in these emails and delete them from the inbox.

Below is a copy of the fraudulent email that we had received. The email was sent using the address “abuse@webnames.ca.org“. Any communications that originate from use @webnames.ca as the domain name. We are actively investigating this issue and if you have any concerns about your domain status, contact us at 1-866-221-7878 or through email at support@webnames.ca.
