As Chair of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs e-series Program, I would like to congratulate the upcoming 2009 e-series class for being chosen.
The FWE e-series Program is a unique set of entrepreneurial education sessions for women entrepreneurs of high growth, leveragable businesses. The mission of the e-series Program is to provide female entrepreneurs exposure to successful business persons and professionals, who help enhance their ability to take their company to the next level.
Weekly sessions are taught by industry heavyweights and business leaders. Past instructors include Darren Entwisle (CEO of Telus), Don Mattrick (Former CEO of Electronic Arts and now with Microsoft), Tamara Vrooman (CEO of Vancity), Julia Levy (founder/former CEO of QLT), Karen Flavelle (President of Purdy’s Chocolates), John Seminario (who sold Octigabay Systems for a reported $US 115 million in 2004 and sold Abatis Systems for CAD$1.3 billion in 2000). This year’s program is made possible by the generous sponsorship of Price Waterhouse Coopers, Vancity and Western Economic Diversification Canada.
The process was highly competitive this year with numerous applications from a wide range of women-owned, high-growth businesses. After evaluation of all the applications and interviews with short-listed candidates, the following 15 women have been chosen to participate in the 2009 program which begins January 2009 and runs weekly until June 2009. Congratulations ladies!
