Neil LimCIRA hosted the second annual .CA Impact Awards and officially announced the winners at the Mesh Conference in Toronto on Tuesday. The .CA Impact Awards find people and organizations that use their .CA sites to make a difference in their community.
Organizations can enter into any four categories: Public Sector and Not-for-Profit, eLearning, Small Business, and Applications. Each winner receives $5,000 as well as national recognition. 
The winners for 2012, by category are:
Public Sector and Not-for-Profit: Better Together
Better Together is a BC provincial initiative whose goal is to help Canadians experience the joys of eating together–whether in their family or with other groups of people.
eLearning: Vancouver Animation School
Vancouver Animation School is a leading educational Canadian institution offering entry and advanced programs for the Animation, Film and Game Industries.
Small Business: Condobox
Condobox is an interior design firm specializing in custom furniture and full interior packages for condo dwellers. Their charity, The Openbox Foundation, takes old furniture donations and provides them to needy individuals.
Applications: In Situ Audio Services
In Situ Audio Services (ISAS) is an eyes-free smartphone application designed to give blind users a better sense of their surroundings as they walk down the street.
