According to Statistics Canada, with over 114 million orders valued at approximately $15.3 billion, there is a lot at risk and online shoppers want to know that their assets are secure. When shopping online, we have been taught to recognize a yellow padlock icon on a webpage or an "https" instead of an "http" in the browser before entering any private information like credit card details; however, most shoppers don't know that these websites are secured by SSL certificates.

- Before you input private information, ensure that the website is secure; "https" ensures that your connection is secure
- Important for businesses that conduct online transactions
