Northern Voice 2007 - Webnames Blog

Northern Voice 2007

Webnames.ca is proud to annouce that we’re sponsoring the Northern Voice Conference on February 23/24 in Vancouver. This will be their 3rd annual weblogging conference and it promises to build on the success of last year with an event that is inexpensive, informal, and accessible to techies and newbies alike.

Although it is a weblog conference, the range of topics may involve anything that webloggers are interested in… that is, just about anything. Previous years have had plenty of geekery mixed with panels on how blogging interacts with family life, education, travel, photography, community building and establishing professional profiles. Speakers range from the big names at the top of the Technorati rankings to first-time presenters with a passion to share.

The conference opens up with a Thursday night dinner at the Heritage Hall in Vancouver, followed by Moosecamp on Friday, and the all-day conference on Saturday. The scheduled sessions include Blogging 101, How to be a Citizen Journalist, and Why every website should use blog software. Pre-registration for the conference is $30, for one day (either the Friday Moose Camp or the Saturday conference) and $50 for the whole conference.
