Telnic, the Registry who brings you the .tel domain, launched their Developer Community yesterday.
Telnic has really tried to give developers an all inclusive area with forums, wiki and ticketing system to track bugs and make feature requests. The early whitepapers that are published offer a tantalizing technical peek under the hood of .tel
They are providing downloads for the Blackberry, iPhone and Outlook Beta applications as well as the source code. Ultimately these applications will be made available to the general public free of charge. This should really jump start the adoption of the .tel service.
The software for their TelHosting platform will be available soon. It will be interesting to see how 3rd party developers extend this and add new features that will not be available on Telnic’s own Community TelHosting platform. A recipe to make money?
Keep your eyes on Telnic’s webpage for the developer community – it looks like there are more good things to come.
