Webnames.ca Email Service Update

Webnames.ca takes spam very seriously and we introduced a new update on March 21, 2016 to further reduce spam.

We have begun blocking outbound connections on Port 25 and 30 to prevent infected devices from being used by spammers to send unsolicited emails. Outbound Port 25 and 30 blocking is a standard anti-spam technique which will allow us to enhance the security of our customers.

The update affects both desktop and mobile email clients, including Microsoft Outlook, Mac Mail, iOS, Android and Windows Live Mail.

For all Webnames.ca customers, you can benefit from the new security update by changing your “Outgoing Server Port” setting from 25 or 30 to Port 587.
