Congrats – you are a pioneer. It’s going to be a little lonely in the wilderness for the first few weeks but as the old saying goes “if you build it, they will come”.
First, you need to put some data in your profile – phone number, web address, facebook link etc.
Secondly, start giving it to people. When you drop the cat off at the vet for a teeth cleaning and they ask how they can reach you, don’t give them your cell and work numbers, just say smith.tel.
This gives you a chance to use it, tell others about it and show off your cutting edginess.
For business, this is an excellent time to update your marketing material. No longer does your delivery van need to have the 800, the address, the web URL with the hyphen and sad .biz on the end – now it can have the one-stop-shopping imports.tel.
Use it. That’s what you do with it.
I actually came across another decent article on how to get more use out of dot tel and some well thought out tips on if its worth getting into it.
Take a look here http://www.squidoo.com/teldomain
Very easy to use and for people to get a hold of you. Tell people to go to “TEL”…… As a realtor who meets people all the time at open houses etc..It a great way to give them All your contact information including my listings broken down in areas for them. Look me up at johnmckenzie.tel..very simple
