Webnames.ca President Cybele Negris Speaks at TEDxCapU November 5th

TEDxCapU_black-small.gifOn Saturday, November 5th , Cybele Negris, Webnames’ President, will be a speaker at the TEDxCapU.  Cybele’s talk will address technology in an event themed: R U READY?, that is all about the impact of change on business.

“The speed of change in Technology, Expectations, Demographics is frustrating, challenging, exciting and resource-consuming! Change also presents OPPORTUNITY.  How are we small and medium sized business owners choosing to embrace change and seize opportunity? How are our actions directly impacting the future of our success?”

These are the questions and ideas that will be addressed by Cybele and a fascinating panel of speakers from diverse areas with two speakers addressing each topic: technology, expectations and demographics.

TED is a non-profit devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading”. It started in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design.

Created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading,” the TEDx (x=independent) program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.

The content and design of each TEDx event is unique and developed independently, but all TEDx events have several features in common.

•    TED’s celebrated format: A suite of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances (live, or just TEDTalks videos from TED.com) on a wide range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration and wonder — and to provoke conversations that matter
•    TEDTalks videos: A minimum of two pre-recorded talks from the acclaimed TEDTalks video series (these talks are available free on TED.com)
•    Bias-free programming: Lack of any commercial, religious or political agenda

Only 100 tickets will be sold for this event.  Come join 384 of Vancouver’s movers and shakers, entrepreneurs, business leaders and distinguished guests as they come together to share ideas, uncover possibilities and stretch brains.  The nine incredible speakers will be framed with TED Talks, live music, art and networking.  Thousands more will participate via live streaming, Twitter and website access.
